...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 PM CDT THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Iowa, including
the following counties, in south central Iowa, Appanoose, Mahaska,
Marion, Monroe and Warren. In southeast Iowa, Davis and Wapello.
* WHEN...Until 1215 PM CDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, roads and other
low-lying and flood-prone locations is likely imminent or
occurring.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1216 PM CDT, Several road closures due to flooding are
continuing across portions of the warned area. Between 2 and
5 inches of rain have fallen. The floodwaters from the heavy
rainfall last night and earlier today have not yet subsided
in some areas.
- This flood warning replaces the flash flood warnings which
were in effect for the area. Additional heavy rainfall is
possible into tonight which may prolong or worsen the
flooding situation.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Ottumwa, Oskaloosa, Knoxville, Albia, Bloomfield,
Pleasantville, Melcher-Dallas, Eddyville, Ottumwa Industrial
Airport, Lake Red Rock, Knoxville Raceway, Eldon, Agency,
Lovilia, Beacon, Bussey, Lacona, Blakesburg, Pulaski and
Harvey.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
