The National Weather Service in Burlington has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Franklin County in northern New York...
  Northeastern St. Lawrence County in northern New York...

* Until 915 PM EDT.

* At 609 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 
  3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen with locally higher amounts. 
  Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in 
  the warned area before ending by 800 pm. Flash flooding is ongoing 
  or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Massena, Fort Covington, Bombay, St. Regis, Helena, Massena 
  International Airport - Richards Field, Hogansburg, Ironton, 
  Rooseveltown, Fort Covington Center, Raquette River and Westville 
  Center.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
