The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Panola County in northwestern Mississippi...
  Southern Quitman County in northwestern Mississippi...
  Tallahatchie County in northwestern Mississippi...
  Western Yalobusha County in northwestern Mississippi...

* Until 1145 AM CDT.

* At 847 AM CDT, emergency management reported widespread, 
  significant flash flooding across the warned area. Numerous roads 
  are impassable and some homes have been evacuated due to flood 
  waters. Between 6 and 10 inches of rain have fallen since 
  midnight. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 4 inches in 1 hour. 
  Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the 
  warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

  This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Tallahatchie, southern 
  Quitman, southwest Panola, and western Yalobusha Counties. This is 
  a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

MORNING FOR SOUTHWESTERN PANOLA, SOUTHERN QUITMAN, TALLAHATCHIE AND 
WESTERN YALOBUSHA COUNTIES...

At 1008 AM CDT, emergency management reported widespread, 
significant flooding across Tallahatchie County. Thunderstorms are 
redeveloping across the area and will dump additional heavy rainfall 
over already flooded areas. Between 6 and 10 inches of rain have 
fallen since midnight. The expected rainfall rate within 
thunderstorms is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall 
amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible across the warned area. Flash 
flooding is already occurring and travel is discouraged across the 
entire county.
