The featured chart is of daily high temperature percentiles observed at Des Moines. March saw its share of really warm and really cold days. The forecast for the first part of April looks slighly cooler than average.

March rainfall

Heavy rainfall, sleet, and snow frequented the state this past weekend leading to many flooding issues. The featured map is of rainfall estimates for Saturday and Sunday showing most of Southeast Iowa in the 2-5 inch range. Unfortunately, the next storm system is due to arrive this Monday evening with the same locations expected to receive heavy rainfall.
