...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING
FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY FOR EAST TENNESSEE MOUNTAINS AND
FOOTHILLS AND NORTH CAROLINA COUNTIES...

* TIMING...This afternoon and evening.

* WIND..Sustained winds 10 to 20 mph. Gusts up to 30 mph in 
  higher elevations and gusts up to 20 mph in foothills.

* HUMIDITY...Minimum RH values in the 20 to 30 percent range 
  this afternoon and evening. Lowest values expected in the 
  foothills.

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. 
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or are expected to occur shortly. A
combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm
temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
