...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THURSDAY...
...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 6 
  to 12 feet expected in the surf zone. For the High Rip Current 
  Risk, dangerous rip currents expected.

* WHERE...Kenedy Island, Willacy Island and Cameron Island 
  Counties.

* WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, through 6 PM Thursday. For
  the High Rip Current Risk, through Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions. Rip 
  currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into 
  deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Dangerous currents and high surf are
  expected to continue into Friday, and additional advisories and
  statements are likely to be issued until conditions begin to
  improve over the weekend. Note that surf temperatures will fall
  to 50 or the lower 50s Thursday and remain there into Saturday
  at least.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.

If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against 
the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline.
If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
