...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 500 AM CDT FOR
EASTERN KANKAKEE...NORTHEASTERN IROQUOIS...SOUTHERN NEWTON AND
SOUTHERN JASPER COUNTIES...
At 337 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that rain has ended for much
of the warned area, with light to moderate rain continuing in only
southern Jasper County. However, flooding may still be ongoing
across portions of the warned area through through 500 AM CDT.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kankakee, Bourbonnais, Bradley, Rensselaer, Kentland, Morocco,
Hanging Grove, Percy Junction, Pleasant Ridge, Perkins, McCoysburg,
Beaver City, Grant Park, St. Anne, Remington, Sheldon, Goodland,
Brook, Aroma Park and Collegeville.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
