The National Weather Service in BLACKSBURG has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Appomattox County in central Virginia...
  Charlotte County in south central Virginia...
  Halifax County in south central Virginia...
  Buckingham County in central Virginia...

* Until 145 AM EDT Friday

* At 139 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain moving into the 
  warned area from the south. This will create saturated conditions 
  for later this afternoon into the evening when the outer 
  circulation of Tropical Storm Michael interacts with a frontal 
  boundary approaching from the west. Up to one inch of rain has 
  already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly and 
  continue into the evening hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Buckingham...
  South Boston...
  Appomattox...
  Halifax...
  and Keysville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding,
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service
