...BLIZZARD CONDITIONS TODAY WITH INTENSE WINDS AND SNOW...

.A strong early spring system will continue to affect Iowa today. 
Strong northwest winds will persist for much of the day, with gusts 
to 50-65 mph at times, before diminishing late. Snow continues to 
gradually diminish, but the strong winds continue to blow snow 
around keeping visibilities degraded and travel difficult.

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions. Winds gusting as high as 65 mph.

* WHERE...Most of central Iowa.

* WHEN...Until 3 PM CST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing 
  snow could significantly reduce visibility. Strong winds could 
  cause tree damage.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel, 
have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with 
your vehicle.
