TUESDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy mixed precipitation. 
  Additional snow and sleet accumulations 6 to 12 inches and ice 
  accumulations up to four tenths of an inch. Winds gusting as high 
  as 45 mph Sunday afternoon and night.

For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy lake effect snow possible. Total 
snow accumulations 9 to 18 inches possible in the most persistent 
lake snows which will lie across the southern half of the county. 
Winds could gust as high as 45 to 50 mph Monday creating blowing and 
drifting snow with poor visibility.

* WHERE...Lewis County.

* WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, until 1 AM EST Monday. For 
  the Winter Storm Watch, from late Sunday night through late 
  Tuesday night.

* IMPACTS...Power outages and tree damage are possible due to the 
  ice and strong winds. Travel could be very difficult. Roads, and 
  especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and 
  hazardous. Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the 
  ice. For the winter storm watch, heavy lake effect snow possible. 
  Travel could be nearly impossible in areas of blowing snow with 
  reduced visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the 
  Monday morning and evening commutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Narrow bands of heavy snow could bring rapidly changing road 
conditions and visibilities. Localized travel problems will be 
possible.

During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally 
heavy snow with greatly reduced visibilities to dry conditions just 
a few miles away. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather, 
visibility, and road conditions.

Widespread accumulating snow and ice will create dangerous travel 
conditions.
