The National Weather Service in Des Moines  has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Southeastern Marshall County in central Iowa...
  Central Jasper County in central Iowa...

* Until 615 PM CST.

* At 535 PM CST, a confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado
  was located near Mitchellville, or 8 miles east of Altoona, moving
  northeast at 45 mph.

  This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW!

  HAZARD...Damaging tornado.

  SOURCE...Weather spotters confirmed tornado.

  IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris 
           may be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile 
           homes will be destroyed. Considerable damage to homes, 
           businesses, and vehicles is likely and complete 
           destruction is possible.

* The tornado will be near...
  Colfax around 540 PM CST.
  Newton and Iowa Speedway around 555 PM CST.

Other locations in the path of this tornadic thunderstorm include
Rock Creek Lake.

This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 151 and 176.

tornado is on the ground. To protect your life, TAKE COVER NOW! Move
to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy
