...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 145 AM EDT EARLY THIS 
MORNING FOR SOUTHWESTERN CAYUGA, SENECA, NORTH CENTRAL TOMPKINS AND 
YATES COUNTIES...

At 1209 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that the heavy rain has 
shifted to southeast Cayuga County. The rain has become lighter 
farther west across Seneca and Yates counties.  Between 1.5 and 3 
inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is up to 1 
inch in 1 hour, especially in southern Cayuga County. Additional 
rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in this area. Flash 
flooding is already occurring in southern Yates County and around 
Ovid in Seneca County.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Auburn, Seneca Falls, Waterloo, Penn Yan, Dundee, Romulus, Owasco, 
Sennett, Starkey, Benton, Fleming, Covert, Locke, Genoa, Ledyard, 
Potter, Middlesex, Moravia, Montezuma and Union Springs.

The heavy rain could cause flooding along the Owasco Inlet and in 
the Village of Moravia.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
