The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Northern Tangipahoa Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
  Western Washington Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
  East central St. Helena Parish in southeastern Louisiana...

* Until 1030 AM CST
    
* At 1006 AM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
  tornado was located over Roseland, or near Amite, moving northeast
  at 30 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado. 

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. 

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
           damage is likely. 

* Locations impacted include...
  Amite, Amite City, Roseland, Wilmer, Mount Herman and Tangipahoa. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency.
They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in
New Orleans.
