13 Nov 2024 Update: The tool was updated to use non-hash link style URLs. A shim is in place to translate the old URLs to the new ones, so nothing should be broken (famous last words). This was done to allow the HTML5 History API to provide a better user experience.

The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a

* Dust Storm Warning for...
  Northeastern Cochise County in southeastern Arizona...

* Until 630 PM MST.

* At 435 PM MST, a plume of dust was located near Bowie, moving 
  northeast at 10 mph. Impacting I-10 corridor from Bowie east to 
  the New Mexico state border.

  HAZARD...Less than a quarter mile visibility.

  SOURCE...Detected by National Weather Service meteorologists.

  IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel.

* Locations impacted include...
  San Simon.

This includes Interstate 10 between mile markers 366 and 391.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not drive into a dust storm. PULL ASIDE STAY ALIVE!

Dust storms lead to dangerous driving conditions with visibility 
reduced to near zero. If driving, avoid dust storms if possible. If 
caught in one, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your 
foot off the brake.

There is no safe place on a highway when a dust storm hits. 
Visibility can be lost immediately, making it difficult or 
impossible to slow down and avoid stopped vehicles. Delay travel, or 
safely exit the highway before the dust storm arrives.
