13 Nov 2024 Update: The tool was updated to use non-hash link style URLs. A shim is in place to translate the old URLs to the new ones, so nothing should be broken (famous last words). This was done to allow the HTML5 History API to provide a better user experience.

Warning for the following rivers in Alabama...

  Pea River near Ariton (US 231) affecting Dale and Coffee Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.

The next statement will be issued this evening at 900 PM CDT.

* WHERE...Pea River near Ariton (US 231).

* WHEN...From this afternoon to late tomorrow evening.

* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, The backyard of a home near U.S. Highway 
  231 and Pea River will start to flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 12.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    early this afternoon to a crest of 15.1 feet just after
    midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage late
    Wednesday morning.
  - Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    15.2 feet on 02/28/2013.
