13 Nov 2024 Update: The tool was updated to use non-hash link style URLs. A shim is in place to translate the old URLs to the new ones, so nothing should be broken (famous last words). This was done to allow the HTML5 History API to provide a better user experience.

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a Fire Weather
Watch for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is in 
effect from Saturday morning through Saturday evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...All of central North Carolina.

* TIMING...From Saturday morning through Saturday evening.

* WINDS...West around 15 mph with gusts 20 to 35 mph. A wind shift
  out of the northwest is expected between 4 and 8 pm Saturday.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...20 to 25 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...low to mid 70s.

* LIGHTNING...None

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread 
  quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

* AFFECTED AREA...All of central North Carolina.

* TIMING...From 10 AM this morning to 10 PM EST this evening.

* WINDS...From the west-southwest shifting to west-northwest as
  high as 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 25 to 35 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 to 20 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...Highs will be in the upper 60s to upper 70s.

* LIGHTNING...None.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will spread quickly. Outdoor 
  burning is not recommended.
