Carmel River at Robles Del Rio affecting Monterey County. .Current forecast indicates the Carmel River will rise to 8.5 feet this afternoon. Flood Stage is 8.5 ft. While the river is currently forecast to reach the low end of Minor Flood Stage, now is the time to prepare in the event we receive more rain than expected or a convective storm cell sets up over the valley and brings additional rain not accounted for in the current projection. For the Carmel River...including Robles Del Rio...Minor flooding is forecast. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
