13 Nov 2024 Update: The tool was updated to use non-hash link style URLs. A shim is in place to translate the old URLs to the new ones, so nothing should be broken (famous last words). This was done to allow the HTML5 History API to provide a better user experience.

The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Miami-Dade County in southeastern Florida...

* Until 800 PM EDT.

* At 615 PM EDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms 
  producing heavy rain in Kendall. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are 
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected 
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Coral Gables, South Miami, Kendall, Pinecrest, Sunset, Glenvar 
  Heights, Olympia Heights, University Of Miami, Richmond Heights, 
  The Crossings, Westchester, Coral Terrace, The Falls, Howard, 
  Coral Way Village, Palmetto Estates and Three Lakes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
