13 Nov 2024 Update: The tool was updated to use non-hash link style URLs. A shim is in place to translate the old URLs to the new ones, so nothing should be broken (famous last words). This was done to allow the HTML5 History API to provide a better user experience.

The National Weather Service in Midland has issued a

* Dust Storm Warning for...
  Northern Glasscock County in western Texas...
  Southeastern Martin County in western Texas...
  Howard County in western Texas...

* Until 745 PM CDT.

* At 641 PM CDT, a wall of dust was along a line extending from 13 
  miles north of Midland to near Greenwood, moving northeast at 50 
  mph.

  HAZARD...Near zero visibility with damaging wind in excess of 60 
           mph.

  SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.

  IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel.

* This includes Interstate 20 between mile markers 152 and 193.
 
Locations impacted include...
Sand Springs, Lomax, Coahoma, Stanton, Lenorah, Big Spring, Big
Spring Country Club, Courtney, Forsan, Big Spring McMahon-Wrinkle
Airpark, Knott, Stanton Municipal Aiport, Luther, and Elbow.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dust storms lead to dangerous driving conditions with visibility
reduced to near zero. If driving, avoid dust storms if possible. If
caught in one, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your
foot off the brake.

Motorists should not drive into a dust storm. PULL ASIDE STAY ALIVE!
