This application allows easy navigation of National Weather Service issued products with Valid Time Event Coding (VTEC).

13 Nov 2024 Update: The tool was updated to use non-hash link style URLs. A shim is in place to translate the old URLs to the new ones, so nothing should be broken (famous last words). This was done to allow the HTML5 History API to provide a better user experience.

...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THURSDAY TO 4 PM
AKST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Water levels up to 4 feet above the normal highest tide
  line.

* WHERE...Kuskokwim Delta Coast, especially Kwigillingok and
  Kongiganak.

* WHEN...The highest water levels from the first storm will
coincide with high tide Thursday night through early Friday
morning. The highest water levels from the second storm could
occur from Friday night through Saturday morning, but confidence
  is lower on timing.

* IMPACTS...Impacts could be similar to those from the recent
January 10 flood event. Water could push up through gaps in the
ice and cause localized flooding for coastal communities,
particularly between Kipnuk and Kwigillingok. Strong onshore
winds could also push pieces of sea ice up onto the shoreline.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Coastal flooding is possible as two storms
move into Kuskokwim Delta from Thursday night through Saturday.
The first storm will bring east to southeast winds gusting as
high as 40-50 mph from Thursday evening through Friday morning.
Confidence is medium to high that a second storm will move in
between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, though confidence
is lower regarding water levels and whether the strongest
onshore winds will coincide with high tide.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay tuned to the forecast. Protect items by moving them further
inland or to higher ground. Monitor conditions and be prepared to
take action if you live in or near lower-lying areas that may
flood.
