* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Fairfield County in southern Connecticut...
  New Haven County in southern Connecticut...
  Northern Nassau County in southeastern New York...
  Westchester County in southeastern New York...

* Until 1230 AM EDT.

* At 1008 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the 
  warned area. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. The 
  expected rainfall rate is 2 to 5 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding 
  is already occurring.

  This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Northern Nassau, Northern 
  Westchester, Fairfield and New Haven. This is a PARTICULARLY 
  DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing
           flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK
           HIGHER GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of
           low water crossings, small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

The heavy rain has ended. There is lingering light to moderate rain. 
There is now an areal flood warning to replace the expired flash 
flood warning to address areas of residual flooding which are 
expected to persist into early this morning. Please continue to heed 
remaining road closures.

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 200 PM EDT Thursday for 
portions of southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey and southeast 
New York.
