The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Carroll County in north central Mississippi...
  Grenada County in north central Mississippi...

* Until 115 PM CST.

* At 914 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the 
  warned area. Rainfall amounts in excess of ten inches of rain have 
  fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring.

  This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for much of Grenda county, 
especially the city of Grenada and northern Carroll county. Several 
water rescues have occurred, numerous roads are closed and a dozen 
or more houses were flooded. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS 
SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Grenada, Leflore, Jefferson, Teoc, Elliott, Avalon, Bew Springs,
  Holcomb and Malmaison.

Additional rainfall amounts of two to three inches are possible in 
the warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now. This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

area. One to three inches of rain have fallen over the past three 
hours onto already flooded or saturated areas. Numerous homes remain 
flooded, in addtion numerous roads closed or flooded. Flash flooding 
will continue across the area.

This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for much of Grenda County, including 
the city of Grenada and northern Carroll county. This is a 
PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!
