TODAY... 

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY 
MORNING THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING FOR EXTREME GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER 
FOR CENTRAL KANSAS... 

The National Weather Service in Wichita has cancelled the Fire
Weather Watch for parts of central Kansas today. Very high fire
danger is still expected this afternoon. 

* Extreme Grassland Fire Danger likely on Tuesday...

* Winds...South 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* Relative Humidity...As low as 12 percent.

* Impacts... Any fires that develop will likely spread quickly and
  become very difficult or impossible to control. Outdoor burning
  is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
red flag warnings.

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of this fire weather product.

OF CENTRAL, SOUTH CENTRAL, AND SOUTHEAST KANSAS...

* Winds...South 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* Relative Humidity...As low as 18 percent.

* Impacts... Any fires that develop will likely spread quickly and
  become very difficult or impossible to control. Outdoor burning
  is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
