* At 750 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported significant flash
flooding with water rescues continuing across Carter county.
This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Several water rescues are
ongoing across Carter county. Recent heavy rainfall across the
mountains is producing life threatening flash flooding. This is a
PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

HIGHER GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of
low water crossings, small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Johnson City, Elizabethton, Central, Pine Crest, Midway, Hampton,
Oak Grove, Unicoi, Bluff City, Watauga, Milligan College, Rocky
Mount State Park, Morril's Cave, Hunter, Embreeville, Telford,
Sadie and Limestone.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
