The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southern Ballard County in western Kentucky...
Eastern Carlisle County in western Kentucky...
Central Graves County in western Kentucky...
* Until 930 AM CDT Wednesday.
* At 328 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 4 and 6 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing. Emergency
management has reported water already over numerous roads across
the area, and there have been water rescues in Mayfield.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Mayfield, Bardwell, Wickliffe, Sedalia, Fancy Farm, Lowes and
Blandville.
Do not attempt to travel!
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
