The National Weather Service in Jackson has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southern Breathitt County in southeastern Kentucky...
  Northwestern Knott County in southeastern Kentucky...
  Northeastern Owsley County in southeastern Kentucky...
  Northwestern Perry County in southeastern Kentucky...

* Until 345 AM EDT.

* At 1205 AM EDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms 
  producing heavy rain in southern Breathitt county. Between 2 and 4 
  inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 
  inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already 
  occurring.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Booneville, Buckhorn, Whick, Little, Saldee, Wolf Coal, Copland, 
  Howard Creek, Altro, Bush Branch, Barwick, Haddix, Curt, Canoe, 
  Beech, Watts, Talbert, Lost Creek, Crockettsville and Sebastian's 
  Branch.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
