At 314 AM CDT, the public reported flash flooding occurring in Mitchell. Several businesses and homes are flooded in Mitchell and some cars are reported submerged by over 2 ft of water. Flash flooding is already occurring. Rainfall is expected to end by 4 AM CDT but flooding is expected to continue as water will be slow to recede. THIS IS A FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR MITCHELL. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW! Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mitchell and Mount Vernon. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Move to higher ground now. This is an extremely dangerous and life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.
