...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 PM MDT FOR SOUTH
CENTRAL PLATTE COUNTY...
At 515 PM MDT, weather spotters reported a tornado touched down for
30 seconds at mile marker 47 on Interstate 25. A confirmed tornado
was located near Chugwater, or 23 miles south of Wheatland, moving
east at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Damaging tornado and two inch hail.
SOURCE...Weather spotters confirmed tornado.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is
likely.
This tornado will be near...
Chugwater around 540 PM MDT.
This includes Interstate 25 in Wyoming between mile markers 48 and
56.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
To repeat, a tornado is on the ground. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a
basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy
building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in
a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect
yourself from flying debris.
