...THIS IS A FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR PERRY, WAYNE AND NORTHWEST 
GREENE COUNTIES IN SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI...

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 AM CST FOR
NORTHERN PERRY...WAYNE AND NORTHWESTERN GREENE COUNTIES...

At 524 AM CST, emergency management reported ongoing extreme flash 
flooding with numerous roads closed or washed out and many homes and 
businesses being threatened. Up to a foot of rain has fallen during 
this event in some locations. While heavy rain currently ending, it 
will take time for flood waters to recede.

This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for the Perry, Wayne and Northwest 
Greene County area. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Waynesboro, Richton, Clara, New Augusta and Buckatunna. 

Additional rainfall amounts of under an inch are possible in the 
warned area over the next couple hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now. This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
