* THIS IS A PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR SATURDAY...

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Zone 270 Surprise Valley California, Fire 
  Zone 278 Eastern Lassen County, Fire Zone 450 Western Nevada 
  Sierra Front, Fire Zone 453 West Central Nevada Basin and 
  Range and Fire Zone 458 Northern Washoe County.

* Valley Winds...West to southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts
  to 35 mph Friday, increasing to 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 
  mph Saturday.

* Slope and Ridge Winds...West to southwest 15-25 mph with gusts
  around 35 mph Friday with gusts around 50 mph by Saturday 
  afternoon.

* Humidity...5-15% Friday and Saturday afternoons...poor
  recoveries Friday night.

* Duration...4-8 hours Friday. 5-9 hours on Saturday.

* Impacts...The combination of strong gusty winds and low 
  humidity can cause fires to grow extremely quickly in size and 
  intensity before first responders can contain them. Danger to 
  personnel on or near existing fires will be high on Saturday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This is a particularly dangerous situation with extremely low
humidity and high winds. New fires will grow rapidly out of
control, in some cases people may not be able to evacuate safely
in time should a fire approach. Avoid outdoor activities that can
cause a spark near dry vegetation, such as yard work, target
shooting, or campfires. Follow local fire restrictions. Check
