...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM CDT FOR
SOUTHEASTERN BAYFIELD...IRON AND SOUTHERN ASHLAND COUNTIES...
At 544 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain has already
fallen over the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to begin
shortly, if not already underway.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Ashland, Hurley, Mercer, Sanborn, Mellen, Marengo, Saxon, Gurney,
Upson, Gile, Odanah, Montreal, Kimball, Morse, Pence, Bad River
Reservation, Gile Flowage, Cedar, High Bridge, and Iron Belt.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
