Temperatures warmed nicely on Tuesday to over 50 degrees for much of the state. Such days have been rather rare this fall season (defined as the months of Sep, Oct, Nov here). The featured chart presents the number of such days each year for Des Moines. The 2019 total so far comes in as one of the lowest on record and nearly two weeks below a simple long term average. Of course there are still days left to be had this month, but having such warm temperatures looks to continue to be elusive.
