The IEM Daily Feature a few days ago showed that sub freezing temperatures are not necessarily common for November on an hourly basis. Today's featured map shows that, on average, some locations in far southern Iowa even average an above freezing daily low temperature for the month. Values this month have been much below average and have felt more like the middle of winter than the first half of November. Temperatures have moderated somewhat this week and are closer to average for this time of year.
