Goodbye D4

Posted: 20 Oct 2023 05:30 AM

The weekly update to the US Drought Monitor was released yesterday and showed some improvements in the state thanks to the rainfall event of late last week. The remaining area of the most severe drought classification (D4) near Cedar Rapids was improved to D3. The featured chart presents the weekly drought classification coverage over Iowa. The entire state remains under some level of drought classification. The good news is that another round of significant precipitation is expected next week as the weather pattern turns more active.
