Temperatures are a bit balmy this Monday morning thanks to a passing storm system dumping a mixture of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Highs today should approach just above freezing! A cold front will sweep the state later today and plunge our temperatures back into the deep freeze as shown by the featured chart of observed Ames temperatures along with the GFS model forecast. Highs will struggle to break single digits for the rest of the week.
