...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS 
EVENING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest Kansas and southwest Nebraska.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM CST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous travel conditions associated with heavy 
  accumulating snow.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Moderate to occasionally heavy snow will 
  persist through sunrise. Accumulating snow will end from west to 
  east late this morning, by noon.  Northeasterly winds at 10 to 20 
  mph may result in periods of blowing snow.  Wind chill readings 
  around 15 degrees below zero are expected this morning. Below zero 
  wind chill readings will persist through the afternoon. 
  Dangerously cold wind chill readings ranging from 15 to 25 degrees 
  below zero are expected late tonight and Thursday morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Delay travel, if possible. If travel is absolutely necessary, 
drive with extreme caution. Be prepared for snow covered roads and 
sudden changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and 
the motorist ahead of you and allow extra time to reach your 
destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially 
cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car is 
winterized and in good working order.

Travel delays are likely along the Interstate 70 corridor in 
northwest Kansas this morning. For road conditions in Kansas, 
Nebraska and Colorado, call 511. Do not use GPS for alternate 
routes, or to go around barricades.
