SITUATION DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY...

* CHANGES...None.

* Affected Area...Fire Weather Zone 274 Southern Mono County, 
  Fire Weather Zone 420 Northern Sierra Front including Carson 
  City, Douglas, Storey, Southern Washoe, Western Lyon, and Far 
  Southern Lassen Counties, Fire Weather Zone 421 Southern 
  Sierra Front including Alpine, Northern Mono, Southern Lyon, 
  and Western Mineral Counties, Fire Weather Zone 423 West 
  Humboldt Basin in Pershing County and Fire Weather Zone 429 
  Lahontan Basin including Churchill and Eastern Mineral 
  Counties.

* Winds...West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts 30 to 40 mph. Ridge
  top gusts 40 to 60 mph. For zone 420 western Nevada Sierra
  Front, there will be localized gusts exceeding 50 mph.

* Humidity...Minimum 5-15% this afternoon.

* Duration...3 to 6 hours of critical conditions.

* Impacts...The combination of gusty winds and low humidity can 
  cause fire to rapidly grow in size and intensity before first 
  responders can contain them.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For Western NV Sierra Front, this is a particularly dangerous 
situation with high winds and dry conditions. New and existing 
fires will grow rapidly out of control, in some cases people may 
not be able to evacuate safely in time.

Avoid outdoor activities that can cause a spark near dry
vegetation, such as yard work, target shooting, or campfires.
